Last week I finally got up the courage to move beyond my little back patio to take some style shots (and totally lied on instagram thinking it was raining; my cube sits far away from the windows, my bad). I'm still pretty shaky with the tripod but I do think things are getting better. I'm open to hearing any tips you might have.
This little road is just outside my incredibly corporate day job where the normal attire is kakis and polos for men and women usually dress pretty low key. There aren't too many heels and everything is rather conservative. When I first got assigned to this client, I felt out of place but now that I know my team, I'm just the "Crazy Californian," which gives me a lot of fashion leeway.
This is probably the last time I'll wear cropped pants to work now that fall is in full swing. I was rebelling against putting on long pants all week. I'm feeling un-inspired and frumpy in all my winter work pants from last year. Considering that I'm finally leaving cubicle nation and living out of my car soon- investing in some cool pinned slacks isn't in the budget.
My favorite parts about this outfit are the layers, the polka dots and the little buttons on the shoulders of my sweater. Believe it or not but a polka dotted shirt like that is kind of a staple. You can wear it with just about anything and style it so many different ways. As for the buttons, I hope they inspire some DIY sweater sprucing up!
