One thing I love about getting ready for a music festival is that creativity can reign free. This outfit is pretty low key compared to the usual festival wears, say Coachella or Burning Man, but Pittsburgh is more laid back than most places, so it works. That still didn’t stop me from mixing up fabrics, patterns and colors. I was super excited to finally make the jump and buy a much covetted jacket from my friend Tiana Gallagher of Gull + Marie. She started her business a couple years ago and I have been following it’s success on ever since.
Gull + Marie is based in Venice Beach California. Venice Beach is a place I hold very near and dear to my heart. Her jacket line comes in all shapes and sizes. If you have babies their line of childrens wear is to die for!
Every piece is an unique vintage jacket that is then recreated using fabric sourced from all over the world.
I’m really into the idea of trying to buy clothing products that are artist made or within two degrees of separation. Meaning, that the boutiques are buying them directly from the artist. Of course there will always be expeceptions to the rule but I’m going to try to start incorporating this philosophy into my day to day life more.
