2019 has arrived!
I love this time of year. I love going back to look at my blog posts from last January and comparing my New Year’s resolutions. I grew a lot in 2018. I settled down a bit, accepted a job at a software company and dissolved my media company. I also started living with a partner for the first-time in my life, totalled my car, and after three years of fostering my brother, I got to see him graduate high school!!!!!!
I have been writing this blog since 2014! Isn’t that crazy? And I’ve been blogging in some form or another for 7 years now. But I’ve always felt something is missing from Lu Curates. Early on, I started to dislike that the title of the blog had my nickname in it, right there on the top. But over the years, it’s been a space for me to work out my shit, test social strategies and learn. And though my day job doesn’t involve working with artists, that is always where my heart has been.
I’m here to announce that I’m launching a new site. Please head over and check out Curated Living. I found the domain www.curatedliving.us a few months ago, and have decided that we are going to take a little side step. Curated Living will still be full of stories and lessons I’ve learned from my life, but I want the branding to reflect my mission and not just my life. I want to provide a resource for artist-run businesses. I hope to inspire people to start their own creative businesses through memoir, storytelling and transparency . Curated Living will be featuring amazing art communities and art-centric travel , and working to lift the veil of exclusivity from the artworld and social media, all the while supporting artists.
All of these amazing and fun ventures will culminate in a quarterly artisan dinner. Through community, I truly believe we can create sustainable business and re-define what is means to be artists.
